Big Horn Wind Project Interconnection
Gilliam County, Oregon

PPM Energy (PPM) has submitted a generation interconnection request to BPA to integrate up to 200-megawatts of power generated from the Big Horn Wind Project in Klickitat County, Washington to the Federal Columbia River Transmission System. Klickitat County is expected to complete its environmental review and permitting of the project in February 2005. As a Federal Agency, BPA must consider the environmental impacts of its interconnection decision under the National Environmental Policy Act. The proposed interconnection project involves constructing a switching substation of approximately 5 acres adjacent to an existing BPA transmission line near the wind project.

For further information on this project, please contact Gene Lynard, BPA Environmental Lead.
