PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is proposing to provide interconnection services to Avangrid for the Montague Wind Power Project (Wind Project) in Gilliam County, Oregon. Avangrid has requested that BPA allow interconnection of its Wind Project to BPA’s Federal Columbia River Transmission System (FCRTS) at BPA’s existing Slatt Substation, also in Gilliam County. To provide the interconnection, BPA would enter into a Large Generation Interconnection Agreement (LGIA) with Iberdrola and would expand the Slatt Substation by one acre to accommodate necessary interconnection equipment.
Avangrid's Wind Project will be located entirely on private lands south of Arlington, Oregon. Avangrid's subsidiary Montague Wind Power Facility LLC will build, own, and operate the Wind Project. BPA does not plan to purchase any of the power produced by the Wind Project
CURRENT STATUS:
BPA has completed its environmental review for the project. The Categorical Exclusion can be found here.
